the curious case of the german bakery(banaras)

Never make the mistake of being lured by the cakes of The German Bakery in Banaras because they are the worst in the world.......they might be cheap, but only meant for people with no taste buds.
But you should  visit it if you want to have an overview of Sex Tourism in Banaras, what you'll get are not Indian sex workers but foreigners who are in need of some quick buck.But what I gathered was that Europeans have a 'thing' for Indian females,well that's what my pretty friend Miss.Sarkar told me,she was given lustful glances by a French guy with amazingly CLEAN dreadlocks,........it is very difficult to get clean foreigners(as in Europeans,Americans and Australians) in Banaras,they are too dirty for words(inspite of the ghats I don't know why they can't take a bath?)
Banaras is a city of contradictions and 'counter- dictions' ,it is beautiful,it is a helluva crazy city.........it intrigues me,it makes me miss it.'What the hell are you?' ... I asked day I packed my bags.......but Banaras wont answer,after all she's a perfect woman-enigmatic and mysterious.

About the German Bakery.....Don't  forget to visit it,very easy to find,.just ask anyone on the ghats...they'll be too glad to show you the way!!

Of weaves and woes

Madanpura in Banaras was once the hub of handloom industry, but now what greets you is the mechanical roar of power looms. The weavers are now gone ,the ones left are no longer willing to pass on the art to their sons

I felt so helpless when I heard their tales of suffering, most of them were a cause of lack of action on the part of the governmentt.
But, I also saw the love of art in people like Md.Suwale and Kabir Sahab,who were willing to die rather than leave a profession ,which has been passed upon them by their ancestors.Their izzat was so dear that inspite of being ill they continued working on handlooms( which is backbreaking work).
The weavers have been ruined systematically by the governmental policies,funds granted by the Central Government are embezzled by state government officials,dubious schemes are floated to give false hopes to the weavers,they have to bribe banks for loans,electricity supply is s irregular and electricity charges are too high for them to keep even one bulb in their workshops.

I don't know why I keep thinking about them,the thing is I have never met people who are willing to trade their life for art.The weavers of Varanasi are no less than artists ,in the true sense of the term. Unless you talk to them, like I did,  you'll never know what 'Art' means to a human being,specially that art which he has learnt from the day he could sit on his father's lap.
However, the weavers of Madanpura are coming to terms with the harsh realities of life. The cobwebbed weavers workshops of Madanpura and the  sound of powerlooms nearby speak volumes of a dying art which is regarded as an inseparable part of the historic.
PS: I am too disturbed, so this is not one of my happy go lucky posts. The testaments of Md Suwale still haunt me.

RATING SIFY BROADBAND

Nothing surpasses Sify Broadband connection, on the 10 point scale I cannot find the proper number which should be assigned to it as a rating point. You know why?  Because Sify is ‘awesome’ in terms of poor network, poor customer service, poor trouble shooting and a list of poor things that come as a part of the unbelievably substandard package called SIFY BROADBAND SERVICE. So an advice to people living in Gorabazar, Dum Dum (Kolkata, India) don’t make the same mistake ,it’s better to flush your money down your toilet than to waste it on Sify.

Sify franchisee’ are mostly operated by local cable service providers, a certain guy who has 2-3 fraud cases pending against him operates such a franchisee in Dum Dum Cantonment( I got to know that only after I had taken the connection ).He’s a smooth talker and has all the qualities that a fraud is expected to have. He has assured that no other cable operator in our area can offer  Broadband service, and thus has established a monopoly over Cable Broadband service in our area. Right now I’m filling up the application form for BSNL Broadband, I know it takes time to get a BSNL connection but at least you get a real Broadband connection not a connection like Sify, where speed does not go beyond 10-12 kbps.

I have suffered a lot for my unwillingness to wait for a BSNL connection. Mind it, this is not a promotion for BSNL. I know BSNL Broadband users also experience poor service at times but believe me  Sify  outdoes it  by a million times and it is very consistent in this respect. I don’t know when I’ll get a new Broadband connection fellow netizens…..but I have to make a move my 1 hour at the net café is over. See you people again and take care.
